Italy-Destination of the Month

Italy is always a fabulous country to visit. Honeymooners, special anniversary or a vacation you can never eat enough pizza or drink enough delicious wine. Italy will have you wanting to come back.

We would suggest 10-14 days to visit Italy. In that time, you would be able to see highlights of the main cities in Italy.

In Rome, we can arrange a private guide of the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. South of Rome, you could take a full day tour to Pompeii, Amalfi Coast and Positano. This ancient city has much to see especially the colosseum in the evening. Don’t forget to toss some change into the Trevi Fountain and make a wish!

Some of our favorite hotels in Rome would be the Hassler near the Spanish Steps or the Grand Hotel Palace.

Florence is another spectacular city filled with museums, piazzas and shopping. The Duomo (church) can be seen from almost every vantage point in the city. The Uffizi Gallery and the Academy of Fine Arts are just two museums to experience. A special treat is to watch the ballet in the evening at the Boboli Gardens while being served a glass of wine.

A private excursion from Florence can be arranged to San Gimigniano and Siena. A client recalled driving up to San Gimigniano as, “this is what Oz must look like!” A quaint village up on the mountain, truly a site not to be missed.

The Hotel degli Orafi in Florence is in a perfect location on the Ponte Vecchio where you will find easily accessible shopping, restaurants and amazing views of the Arno River.

Of course, no trip to Italy would be complete without a day or 3 in Venice. Piazza San Marco is the famous square and a gondola ride under the Bridge of Sighs is a must. The labyrinth of the canals are beautiful by day or night.

Both the Londra Palace and the Danielli Hotels are on the Main Canal with easy access to water taxis, restaurants and streets to wonder through.

If you have extra time some other interesting cities to explore would be Milan, Verona, Lake Como area and Orvieto.

Ciao!
