Vacation Questions and Answers

Q: Do I need a passport to leave the United States for my trip?

A:  In most cases the answer is yes.  The only places that you can go outside of the US without a passport are Puerto Rico and St. Thomas as both of these are part of the US.

Q: Do I need a passport to go to Hawaii or Alaska?

A: No, as both of these are part of the US.

Q: Can I stay in touch with my friends and family while I am on my Vacation?

A: Yes, in many ways.  Make sure to let your cell provider know where you are going and they can provide you with global roaming service to most of the destinations we serve.   Most resorts will also have WIFI that you can pay for.  In some cases resorts and cruise lines now include WIFI as part of their all inclusive.

Q: Why should I book with Vacationeeze instead of booking directly with the resort or with one of the online travel sites?

A: The key reasons are customer service, helpful expert travel concierges that know the resorts, great pricing and the fact that we don’t charge a fee for our service and can provide all of the help you need.  If you call the resorts directly they will not provide you any comparison between their resort and others you have interest in.   They will also typically not provide you both the PROS and CONS of their resort.  Our goal is to help you select the right resort for your dream trip.  We can help you evaluate the various destinations and the resorts in each destination.  We can also provide you a turn key trip including airfare, resort stay, transportation between the airport and resort as well as help you select interesting tours and activities in the destination.  In most cases we can beat the prices of the resorts directly!

Q: Where are the top beach destinations?

A: Travel Industry sources report: #1 is Riviera Maya/Cancun, #2 Jamaica, #3 Hawaii, #4 Punta Cana  #5 St. Lucia.   Other top places include Tahiti, The Bahamas, Costa Rica.  In Europe the top spots are Italy, France, Spain and Greece.

Q: Will going to an “all inclusive” resort save us money?

A: The answer is not so simple.  If you are a couple who likes to be active, eat 3 meals a day, have a few drinks and have a snack then the answer is yes.  If you are a couple that just wants to lay on the beach then probably not.  We tell our clients that most of the time all inclusive are the way to go as they include all your meals, drinks, room, snacks, activities and gratuities.  In many cases the only other cost would be Spa service and tours outside the resort.  So the bottom line is most of the time you do save money at an all inclusive resort.  What is more important is to let us find you the right all inclusive resort.  There are resorts at all prices and some for families, adults only and couples only.

Q: How far in advance should I book our vacation?

A: We typically suggest booking 4-7 months in advance to get the best prices and availability, but have helped clients 1 week before they wanted to travel as well.   Most airlines increase their prices the closer you get to departure.  We are also seeing resorts that are selling out 1-2 months in advance.

Q: Do I have to pay for my trip in advance?  Can I make monthly payments?

A: In most cases no.  Most of the resorts and cruise lines we work with require you pay  a deposit to secure your trip and the balance is due approximately 60 days prior to departure.   If we are booking your airfare for you the airlines sometimes require full payment within 24 hours of the reservation.   You can contact us as often as you like to make payments on your trip.
